Terra Lightfoot enchanting us at the Lexington last night. Catch her again tonight at The Slaughtered Lamb - beautiful stuff…
Sneak Peek: The Megaphonic Thrift live at The Lexington last night. Catch their Norwegian brand of Sonic-Youth-isms tonight at the Old Blue Last - it’s free! More photos on The405 soon…
Photo by Freddie Claire - the sound recordist during the filming of “Louis Theroux: Miami Mega Jail”
P.S. I’d love to get involved in this kinda stuff… Photographically documenting films or documentaries and doing sound design at the same time…
My first full frame DSLR. Some poor guy bit off more than he could chew in an impulse buy late last year, so I managed to get this in pristine condition for a song yesterday evening!
P.S. Yes, I know that it’s successor, the Canon 5D MKIII, will be announced soon, but it’ll be a lot more expensive given the current climate, manufacturing hardships (Thai flooding) and the rising price of the Japanese Yen. It won’t be easy to get hold of for most of this year too no doubt…
One from the vaults: The amazing Pinback live at ULU last year c/o Bird on the Wire. More photos from this set on flickr…
Yul Brynner: A Photographic Journey at The Little Black Gallery (13a Park Walk, SW10 0AJ). Admission is free. Ends 11th of February 2012
How could I not go to this?
New EP from Dntel. Quiet different from his usual stuff but loving it! Check it: Dustmite CDep
Icarus live at Cafe OTO on Friday night launching their stunning new and ambitious album in 1000 variations… More photos on The 405
P.S. Not all that much to look at live (sorry guys!) but the album is a beauty!
A couple more from the first set of Idris Ackamoor and The Pyramids last night at Cafe OTO. Go check them out - they’ve got that Sun Ra Arkestra energy!
P.S. I won’t get around to touching the 2nd set until late this evening no doubt…
10 days in Iceland. More photos on flickr
Achantè - A short and spell-binding documentary film about the Vodouisants of Haiti. Directed and produced by Emily McMehen along with cinematographer Geoffrey Sautnerby, Nick Zammuto (of The Books) created the soundtrack. Beautiful, intense and moving stuff - seek it out!
On the road. I just couldn’t help myself whilst driving in Iceland…
